Should teenagers have flu shots?

Q Should teenagers have flu shots?

A If you’ve ever been unlucky enough to succumb to influenza, you’ll know what a serious knock to the body it can give. Once you’ve contracted the virus, it can take one to three days for flu symptoms to hit. Once it takes hold, tiredness, muscle aches and pains, fever, chills, headache, poor appetite, a cough and runny nose can leave you bedridden, sometimes for weeks – not great for teens trying to study, play sports and live life to the full. The Federal Government advises people who have medical conditions that may make them more susceptible to the flu to consider having an annual flu shot.
