Are bar soaps better than liquid hand wash?

Q Are bar soaps better than liquid hand wash?
A For a hygienic hand wash, liquid hand washes are the better choice.  Bar soaps are effective for hand washing but, unlike a hand wash, they have an exposed surface which can be contaminated by germs, particularly in an office bathroom accessed by lots of people. Some people prefer a bar soap. To help keep the bar soap as hygienic as possible, don’t let it dry out (as bacteria and dirt can gather in the cracks) and don’t let it sit in a puddle of water (as the soapy water can promote the growth of germs). If you’re having trouble getting the little ones in the house to use any kind of soap, try a foaming hand wash. These products look like liquid  hand washes but come out of the pump in a froth of bubbles that kids will find appealing.
